Mindful Practice is learning to be fully present, aware of oneself, without applying judgement.
Learning to "sit" with yourself...your thoughts, feelings, your own body... is often harder than most people realize. It is also how we find self-regulation which leads to physical and emotional resilience, mental clarity, focus and compassion for ourselves and others.
Through using the skills taught, you will be more grounded, have increased self-control and be a better friend, teammate, performer, family member and best of all...your real and authentic self.
Why Mindful Practice for Athletes?
Athletes all over, from youth teams to college and professional teams, are focusing more on the mental part of the game. It is amazing how a naturally skilled and even highly trained athlete can struggle with basic techniques in sport due to overthinking, hesitation, lack of self-compassion and lack of overall body awareness. Learning mindful practice allows athletes to be in their bodies and in the moment, skills that go far beyond sport.
